Step 1 – Turn of Hardware acceleration in Google Chrome

Open Google Chrome, go to the menu (three dots in the top right corner). Open Settings from the menu.

Scroll down to Advanced, in the System heading, search for “Use hardware acceleration when available” and turn it off using the blue slider.

Relaunch Google Chrome and visit the same URL that gave the Aw Snap! error to see if the Aw Snap! error is resolved.

Step 2 – Launch Google chrome with –no-sandbox argument

Find the shortcut you use to launch Google Chrome. You can find the shortcut most likely in the taskbar or on your Windows Desktop.

Right-click the Google Chrome shortcut and open Properties.

In the Shortcut tab, change the Google Chrome target shortcut to chrome.exe” –no-sandbox. After chrome.exe” (including quote) type: –no-sandbox.

Warning: this is only for testing purposes. Do not use it when browsing the internet, no-sandbox disables many security features and performance enhancements in Google Chrome.

Step 3 – Clear browser cache and Google Chrome cookies

Step 4 – Flush DNS Cache

In this step, you can clear the DNS cache on your device.

Windows users. Open a command prompt window, in the command prompt window type: ipconfig /flushdns.

Press CMD button on your keyboard + Spacebar. In spotlight search type: terminal.

In the terminal window type: dscacheutil -flushcache.

Press the ENTER key

Step 5 – Scan for malware with Malwarebytes

Malware is known for breaking TCP/IP configurations on your computer. If malware is present on your computer, TCP/IP configurations may be damaged; this causes the Aw Snap in Google Chrome.

Step 6 – Try Incognito mode

Start the browser in incognito mode to see if the Aw Snap also occurs in incognito mode. This way, you can exclude whether the problem is on the internet connection or just a specific browser.

I do recommend to visit the same URL in incognito mode to verify if the website is available in Google Chrome incognito mode.

Resetting the browser can be useful if the problem occurs in a specific browser. It is possible that a particular setting or browser extension causes the Aw Snap problem to occur.

Step 8 – Temporary disable your antivirus software

Antivirus software is recommended; often, antivirus software has a firewall built-in. This antivirus firewall can cause problems with your internet connection. To test if the problem is in the antivirus software, it is advisable to temporarily disable the antivirus software to see if it solves the problem.

Step 9 – Try to fix your internet connection
