If you have changed your mind and would like to set Google Chrome as your default web browser, I explain step by step in this instruction how you can do this in Windows 10, Windows 8, and Mac OS X.
How to set Google Chrome as your default web browser
Open the start menu by pressing the start button, select Settings from the menu. In the Settings menu, open the Apps menu. In the left window, select Default apps.
Scroll down and click on “web browser.” Select Google Chrome from the list.
Please note that Google Chrome has to be installed on your device (duh!).
In the case of Windows 8 and below, first, click in the taskbar on the start menu. Now go to Programs > Default Programs and set your default programs.
Select Google Chrome on the left and then click Set this program as default. Click OK to confirm the changes.
Mac OS X
To Google Chrome as default web browser settings on a Mac is even simpler. You open the Google Chrome web browser, open the Settings menu by clicking on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right corner.
Open Settings, scroll down and select Google Chrome settings as your default web browser. Confirm the action by selecting Make default.
