Usually, the web browser is redirected by a random number of pop-ups in the web browser before landing on the eventual advertisement web page.

In this way, adware abuses advertising networks to determine which advertisement is most appropriate to the user.

Adware publishers benefit from the most relevant ads in order to generate sales, leads, and money by overwhelming the user with PPC (pay per click).

Generally, the more relevant the advertisement, the more the user would click on the ads.

Uninstall adware from your computer

In this first step, we will attempt to identify and uninstall any adware software that might be installed on your computer.


Uninstall software from Windows 7

Windows 7 users: Click the Start button in the left bottom corner, select Control Panel, select “Programs, and Features”.

Review the software application list for recently installed adware applications and click “Uninstall“.
In the image, you see recently known adware applications.

Click the column “Installed On” to sort installed applications by date, this makes it easier to detect recently installed adware applications.

If you are unsure if the extension is malicious, click the slider and disable the extension first.

The following browser extensions in Google Chrome are pre-installed by Google and are not associated with adware: Google Docs Offline, Docs, Sheets, and Slides, click here for an image.

All other browser extensions might be ad-supported. Continue to the next step, click here to remove the adware on your PC.

Optional: Reset the Google Chrome profile sync

Google Chrome synchronizes the browsers user-profile with the Google Cloud services.
